Sung Kyu Choi
Sung Kyu Choi has all the qualities and strengths that we associate with exceptional musicians. He has with his elegant and expressive singing shown a deep understanding for the music and the composer in his performance.
Kyu Choi is a South Korean baritone, who graduated from the Korea National University of Arts before taking up a place at the Royal Academy of Music where he studied for his Master’s degree, and currently studying for his Advanced Diploma which supported by the Charles Mackerras Opera Scholarship and Stokes Bursary at the Royal Academy Opera under Mark Wildman.
He took up several principal roles including the title role in Don Giovanni with the RAO under Gareth Hancock. He recently won the opera prize at the Mozart Singing Competition, was the finalist of Wilhelm Stenhammer International Music Competition 2018 and received an award from Josephine Baker Trust.
