Clara Reeves
Clara Reeves has all the qualities that we associate with exceptional musicians. She has with her outstanding technical abilities and enveloping warm tone expressed a deep understanding for the music and the composer in her performance of “I Want Magic!” from A Streetcar Named Desire by André Previn, “Comme autrefois” from Les pêcheurs de perles by Bizet and “II. Sleep” from 6 Elizabethan Songs by Dominick Argento

Clara Reeves is a soprano from Greenville, North Carolina. She is a 2022 Bachelor of Music recipient from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor Thomas Baresel. Her roles include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart, Morgana in Alcina by Handel, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, and Speranza in L’Orfeo by Monteverdi. Ms. Reeves is the recipient of numerous awards, including second place in the Matinee Musicale competition, the Dieterle Vocal Arts Award, second place in the CCM Undergraduate Scholarship Competition, and a merit winner in YoungArts.
Past programs have included Songe d’été en musique, Chicago Summer Opera, Songfest, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti. Ms. Reeves is an avid lover and performer of music by women composers and strives to include pieces by women in each of her auditions and performances. She is also a visual artist who designs pieces that promote opera to everyday people, pieces that aid music teachers in their classrooms and studios, and promotional pieces for organizations and other opera singers.
