Chanya Bayla Somboonvechakarn is 6 year old Thai-Indonesian who currently studies Year 2 at NIST International School in Bangkok, Thailand. She started playing the piano at age 3. She has been a student of Prof. Irina Novikova for the past two years. Her passion for music includes piano, violin, and singing. At her young age, she has achieved an array of musical accomplishments: she had performed as soloist with Sunrise String Orchestra and she has won over 10 national and international awards. Her accolades include: Gold Prize winner in Brilliant Talent Discovery Awards 2019,
First Prize and Winner in Singapore International Piano Competition 2019. Gold Prize winner in the International Young Gifted Musicians Festival “Passion of Music 2018” by The American Association for the development of the Gifted and Talented (AADGT); First Prize winner and Exceptional Young Talent Special Prize winner in Young Musician Category of International Music Competition “Rome” Grand Prize Virtuoso 2017. Gold Prize winner in Singapore Asia Youth Piano Competition 2018, Singapore; Second Prize winner in The 20th Hong Kong – Asia Piano Open Competition 2018, Category Concerto C (under 15years), Hong Kong; Second Prize winner of Infant C Free Program Course, Youth Category in The 18th Osaka International Music Competition 2017; and many others.
Bayla has also performed in various concert halls around the world, including Weill Recital, Carnegie Hall, New York, U.S.A.;Teatro Studio, Parco della Musica, Rome, Italy; and other halls in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan.
